Grinders — Contest Rules

    Last updated: September 30, 2026

    Grinders is a contest decided by points earned, not by chance. There is no random drawing: places are decided by the ranking rules below, and anyone can check a result against them. No purchase or payment is ever required.

    1. Sponsor and eligibility

    The Grinders contest ("Contest") is run by GiftChit ("Sponsor"). It is open to anyone eligible to hold a GiftChit account under the Terms of Service — at least 18 years of age (or the age of majority where you live, if older). Void where prohibited.

    2. How to take part

    Choose the Grinders reward track in your account settings. While you are on it, every qualifying offer you complete earns 4 points for each $1 the advertiser pays for the completion, rounded down, and those points count toward the round that is open at the time.

    A change of track takes effect at the next 1:00 a.m. UTC, and you can change track once per calendar month (UTC). Points you earned in a round stay in that round if you leave the track: you are still ranked on them when it settles, you just earn no more there.

    3. Rounds

    A round closes at 1:00 a.m. UTC. It pays out only if, when it closes, it has at least 2,000 qualifying points earned by at least 10 ranked participants. If it does not, it is extended to the next 1:00 a.m. UTC, and every point already earned stays in it. After 30 extensions without reaching the minimum, the round is carried over into a new round, again with every point and place carried with it.

    4. Qualifying points

    Points do not count toward a place or toward the prize pool if they come from:

    • an offer completion the advertiser later reverses (the points are removed);
    • an offer completion flagged as fraudulent; or
    • an account that has been suspended.

    Bonus points not tied to an offer completion (for example, a manual correction) count toward your place but do not add to the prize pool. Only participants with a total above zero are ranked.

    5. Ranking and ties

    Participants are ranked by, in order:

    1. Qualifying points, highest first;
    2. on equal points, whoever last earned a point earlier ranks higher — getting there first wins;
    3. if that is also equal, a fixed order by account ID, so a recount can never change the result.

    The ranking is recalculated from the full points record at settlement, never from a running total.

    6. Prizes

    The top 10 ranked participants each win a gift card of the brand of their choice from those offered at claim time. The prize pool is 10¢ for every qualifying point earned in the round.

    • Every paid place is guaranteed at least $20.
    • Any part of the pool above $200 is shared by rank, in straight-line weights: first place gets 10 shares, second 9, down to one share for place 10.
    • Each prize is rounded down to whole dollars.
    • If fewer than 10 participants are ranked, only they are paid, and the shares are spread over the places actually filled. Nobody who did not place is promoted to fill a gap.

    The live pool, the standings and what each place would pay if the round closed now are shown on the Grinders page. Prizes have no cash value and are not transferable.

    7. Winner notification and claim

    Winners are notified by email and in the app when the round settles. A prize must be claimed within 72 hours of that notification or it is forfeited. The Sponsor may verify eligibility and the genuineness of the offer completions behind a place before a prize is delivered.

    8. General

    • Taxes on prizes are the winner's responsibility.
    • The Sponsor may disqualify anyone who tampers with the Contest, uses more than one account, or completes offers fraudulently, and may suspend a round if fraud or a technical fault compromises it.
    • Winners' usernames and places are shown on the Grinders page. Disputes are handled as set out in the Terms of Service.
